About...
Yazmin Islahudin was born on the 17th of January 1982 in Fairfax County, Virginia. Immediately after her birth, her family returned home to their hometown in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; only to move to the United Kingdom 2 years later. There, in the small town of Norwich, she received her earliest education - graduating Playschool and spending 2 years in Costessey Infant School.Upon her return to Malaysia in June of 1988, Yazmin continued her kindergarten years at Tadika Fatima (anyone?) and later moved on to Bukit Bintang Girls School. As soon as she completed 6th Grade, Yazmin was offered a place in an out-of-state boarding school. She spent all her 5 years of high school in Sekolah Tun Fatimah, Johor Bahru, and successfully graduated in 1999.
In June of 2000 Yazmin was awarded a full scholarship by Tenaga Nasional Berhad. After a year of attending a preparatory course and acing her SATs (you don't know me so I'm allowed to lie...), Yazmin was finally accepted into Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, USA to join the Informations Sytems Program. She graduated in May 2005 and returned safely home to work with her sponsors in the Finance Division. The rest, as they say, is history....
Getting Personal...
I (used to) love to read. Unfortunately, I seem to get sidetracked with all the other stuff people get distracted by - work, tv and sleep. I am a big fan of JRR Tolkien (years before someone even got the bright idea to make it a movie. Also, my brother forced me to read it when I was younger and made me cry when he scorned my Enid Blyton collection). I've also enjoyed a couple of books by William Golding, Joseph Heller, Kurt Vonnegut, Aldous Hexley, Douglas Adams, Roald Dahl, and some other writers whose names are probably too difficult to spell or too long to remember. And you can agree with me that the list looks impressive. Hohoho, isn't Google fun.
I also like to write. Except when I'm supposed to. I hope to have my own column in the newspaper someday and have everyone listen to what I have to say. Then maybe someday someone will want to quote me. I also have this wild ambition (this is as wild as I get... ) to become a rockstar and work with James Hetfield. Then maybe I'd be filthy rich and have a candy machine in my room. And while I'm dreaming, I wish I had my own jet.
I love my family tremendously. People say it's an obsession. But if you knew how much allowance I get, you'd love my parents too. That was a joke. I just am a family-oriented kind of person and I literally do call them up to let them know what I'm doing everytime. According to a friend, this increases my cuddliness factor.
I think that means I'm super cool and super awesome.
